How to Play

  • The Basics: Control your snake with Arrow Keys or on-screen taps. Your goal is simple: eat and grow.
  • Growth: Every red block you eat makes your snake longer by one segment and increases your score by one point.
  • Ascension: As you score points, shimmering ladders will appear. Slither onto a ladder to climb to the next floor of the endless tower. Your score carries over!
  • Danger: Be warned! Colliding with the walls of the game area or running into your own tail will end your run.

Pro Tips

  • Master the Edges: Use the walls to your advantage. Hugging the perimeter can help you manage a long snake and set up for tricky food grabs.
  • "S" Curves: When your snake gets long, moving in wide "S" patterns is an efficient way to cover the board and collect food without trapping yourself.
  • Anticipate Ladders: Know your ladder threshold (you can set it in settings!). As you approach that score, try to clear space on the board so the ladder doesn't spawn in an impossible-to-reach spot.
  • Controlled Chaos: At higher speeds ('Fast' or 'Impossible'), focus more on survival than grabbing food immediately. It's better to miss one block than to end your run. The food isn't going anywhere!

FAQ

Why is there a delay before I crash into a wall?

That's the "grace period"! We added a tiny half-second delay to give you a chance to save yourself from an accidental wall collision. The border will flash red to warn you.

What do the different colored blocks mean?

The green block is your snake's head, with a lighter green body. The red block is food. The shimmering amber block is a ladder to the next floor.

Does the game get harder on higher floors?

The core challenge comes from your snake getting longer and the game speed you choose. Higher floors don't add new mechanics, but the visual change keeps the climb feeling fresh!

What's the highest floor anyone has reached?

The tower is endless! We've seen players reach floors in the triple digits. Can you set a new record?
